Raft building, cardboard boat regattas, dragon boat racing, coracle challenges, ribs and sailing the Solent and more!
Summer team building events can take advantage of many water based activities providing fun, safe and sometimes unusual challenges for the teams to tackle.
The lake at Eastnor Castle provides many opportunities to spend the whole day focussed around water based activities or to incorporate them into one of our other team challenges. However, these activities can be run at most water based venues.
Cardboard boat regattas are a new and innovative challenge for teams to create and customise their own cardboard boats and race head to head against each other in a competitive but highly amusing environment. Teams need to be creative, resourceful with strong communication skills to be successful on the water. For further details click here
Raft building is always a popular activity which can be a competitive or non competitive challenge. This challenge tests the team’s skills in knot tying, co-operation and leadership skills. This exciting activity works well with other challenges which can culminate in the teams storming the Castle or raising the flag on the lower terrace.
Coracle Challenge is quite a unique water based experience. Coracles are river vessels that have been used since primitive times and traditionally are handmade wooden basket framed covered with animal hide. More recently canvas or other waterproof material is used. They are notoriously difficult to balance in making for a fun (somewhat wet) challenge. The teams can either be taught how to make their own coracle which would require creativity, resourcefulness and teamwork in order to achieve a vessel that could transfer team members across part of the lake or the coracles can be supplied and the teams race across the lake as part of an event.
