Images from the first day of a Castle Adventure , the clients had a great day driving around the Eastnor Estate completing various offroad and physical challenges before enjoying an beautiful evening at the Mongolian Gers, with lamb slow cooked in an earth pit.

Mud Runner OBLIVION

The second race in the Mud Runner series took place in early May, with nearly 700 runners tackling 6ish gruelling country miles with 10 obstacles thrown in for good measure.

Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness…..

The Eastnor estate is beautiful all year round but at this time of the year it is simply stunning, the mist hangs round the lake and the leaves turn a spectacular array of colours.

It was a stunning morning to be out on the lake at dawn setting out a programme for a client. With the return of the mud we have created a fantastic programme for this swedish client using the land rovers to venture all around the estate with a variety of challenges for them to complete followed by one night in the gers and one night in the castle.

This is a great time of year to bring your team out for a team building course with plenty of hot food and open fires to keep people fed, warm and dry, and I promise not to quote any more poetry.

Mud Runner

Outside Adventure is also part of D3 events which means on occasion we get involved in all sorts of extra-ordinary events. We were delighted to help out at the beginning of October with the “Mud Runner” which was a joint venture between Eastnor Castke and D3 events involving a 6ish mile cross country race around the Eastnor estate using the Land Rover tracks and taking 400 intrepid runners through a lot of filth.

The next event is on the 9th May 2009 – Mud Runner Oblivion which is an arduous cross country with an assault course, if you would like to take part you can enter via www.mudrunner.co.uk

Elsie rings the Bell !

During a downturn you can become so focussed on the difficulties that you don’t always take time to enjoy and celebrate the small (or hopefully large) successes that come your way. Elsie (our office administrator) never lets any success go unmentioned or celebrated, his preferred method (yes, elsie is also a man’s name) is to ring the old servants bells which still hang at the back of Bronsil House.

Water Walking Balls

Running events during this heatwave over the last 2 weeks has been fantastic and the advent of the warmer weather has given us the opportunity to get out the Water Walking Balls. We used them last week as part of a fun day for Specsavers.

The attached video is of Mike showing his awesome balance and agility in getting not very far. Kes and Fern are responsible for the childish giggling and unhelpful comments.

During the day Specsavers took part in 6 different activities which were all unusual, challenging and fun, set in the shadow of the beautiful Eastnor Castle, so if you are looking for a fantastic day out for your staff give us a call or pop in for a coffee and have a look round.

Staying in the Gers is a wonderfull way to finish a days teambuilding especially when combined with our wilderness cooking programme.

Stroke Association

We are running a zipwire on the 28th of June for the Stroke Association, one of the participants is 87 yr old Arthur Wrench who graced the front page of the Ledbury Reporter this week as he is planning on completing both the Castle Abseil and Zipwire. We are unsure at this stage if he will scream as much as Elizabeth Glinka. Castle Family Challenge Day

Over the May Bank holiday we ran a number of events for Eastnor Castle as part of their family challenge day. Visitors to the Castle were able to challenge themselves on a number of activities including the zipwire, mountain biking, firelighting (with Bushtucker Jack a.ka. fern) and a climbing wall.

Seen here is the local doctor Rob Davies tackling the climbing wall in a determined (yet ultimately futile) effort to traverse the wall in a faster time than his children.

80 of the people completing the zipwire over the weekend took part to raise funds for the Noahs Ark Trust (www.noahsarktrust.co.uk) in Hereford. Liz Collins the Community Fundraiser estimates that about £7,000 will have been raised through the efforts, well done ! Before the event one of the local radio stations (BBC Hereford & Worcester) sent their intrepid reporter Elizabeth Glincka to have a go at the zip wire.
